Highland Community Garden

Community Garden volunteers are beginning their fifth year growing vegetables for their Highland neighbors with new ideas, partners and dollars to increase summer’s bounty. Join us for our upcoming events. The community garden is located at 2917 Highway Ave. next to Main Fire Station. 

UPCOMING EVENTS

• Early Planting Day
  10 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 6
• Planting Day 
  10a.m.-noon Saturday, May 18
• Pet Blessing in the Garden by Father Gregory
  6-7 p.m. Thursday May 30

Garden volunteers are looking for the following new or gently used items:

• Bird baths
• Compost bin mesh
• Large pots and buckets
• Hoses: Lightweight flexible hose style
• Home Depot gift cards to help purchase above items.
• $1 and $5 Garden Vouchers: You can also provide plants for the garden by purchasing and donating at Zandstra’s Greenhouse, 10202 Kennedy Ave. and Scheeringa Farms & Produce, 9436 Cline Ave. Your plant donations help fill our garden with produce for those in need.
