School Town of Highland
The School Town of Highland has cause to celebrate! The Indiana Department of Education recently released preliminary ISTEP+ test scores and of the state's 327 school districts, Highland ranked 38th in the percentage (76.67%) of third through eighth grade students passing both the English/language arts (E/LA) and mathematics portions of the test! That is an increase of 5.7 percentage points over last year's 70.97% that passed both. And there is more good news! Highland ranked 22nd in the percentage of students (85.19%) that passed the E/LA portion of the test and 78th in the percentage (83.03%) passing math. Highland has a 19 to 1 student/faculty ratio and about 40% of the faculty have over 11 years of experience.
